Date of Discussion- Thursday 15th of November
We have been looking into techniques that we want to use in our film. One technique that we would like to try out is using quick, fast cutting of shots to show a journey/event.
This creates a more dramatic effect than the usual cutting techniques we used in our thriller film last year. It will also add valuable extra time to the amount of time we are allotted for our short film.
Examples that we have found:
Gumtree advert- this uses short cuts
Another technique we are interested in trying is creating a 'static' effect which looks like an old fashioned television is experiencing tuning problems. We want to use this during the news report scene of the film (see last post).
Shannen found this helpful video when researching for our short film which explains some of the effects we want to use.
Other effects we're interested in using are a CCTV style shot, handheld point of view camera work and the view from a bystander's mobile phone.
